I set this up at 5am on Thursday March 26 on a whim, when I decided my normal Extra Life page was not cutting it for showing off what I had to offer, for charity.
I'm a hobbyist potter who has the blessing of my studio to produce pots on a hobby-scale (so no orders of dozens of something), film and stream from the studio within reason, and finally sell my pieces with proceeds going to charity.
How this will work (?)
Potters local to me will agree to a few things:
- Agree to provide 75-100% of the proceeds of a sale (after card and shipping fees) to a legitimate 501c3 charity of their choice.
- Provide me a link for donation, along with donation instructions.
- Provide me with biographical information and a photo for their collection
- Provide photos, dimensions, price, and weight of each piece
- If a piece sells, they will package their piece securely and work with me to ship or deliver it within 3 business days of the sale, within reason
- De-list pieces by contacting me promptly by providing me the link if a piece sells via another method, breaks, etc.
- Handle customer service issues or insurance with their shipments up to and including refunding the purchase out of pocket.
In return I will:
- Create a collection "storefront" on my shopify page linking to the artist's charity and providing their bio and photo, including links
- Maintain upkeep of the shopify including subscription fees
- Provide Fedex shipping box and label for each piece sold, if standard sized*
- Ship the piece and maintain tracking information inside shopify
- Relay pre- and post-sale communications
- Handle money, subtract processing and shipment costs, and donate the balance to the artist's charity, in the artist's name where available, within 5 business days of shipment**
- Provide accounting and receipts
